Quod

Strategic Board game - featured in Scientific American March 1996. Quod was developed in 1979 while at college. Now available as a Windows based game developed with Micheal Mefford - featured in PC Magazine 1996 following the Scientific American article. Quod has several sites where a copy of the game is available (Epoc, Java, Palm and Windows versions).

Nodal Slide

Patented and publication (Physics Education) while at 2nd in University (Robert Gordons Institute of Technology 1980). This device was developed to isolate critical parameters in lens systems.

IOTA

A game based on 3D chemistry - a combination of strategy and molecular modelling. Developed in 1984-1986 it has been reviewed by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Microscope Digital Interface

Developed at Link Analytical (1985-1987). The Microscope Digital Interface controlled the scan coils of electron microscopes to capture images of biological samples at the atomic level.

Compliance Manager

Environmental monitoring software (1991-1993). Used to collect, collate and analyse data for compliance to the environmental protection act. Compliance Manager was used by 15 County Councils in the UK

VEgAS

Virtual Egress Analysis and Simulation. Finalist of the 1992 Innovation of the year awards - Sunday Times. Featured on Tomorrows World, Beyond 2000, CNN, European Broadcast News and various science broadcasts worldwide. Reviews in New Scientist, PC Magazine, Fire and Safety magazines. Systems used at Fire Research Station, Colt International, Fire Services College, Crossrail Project and Ulster University.
